When we now, in desperation, FINALLY and COMPLETELY surrender our lives to Jesus Christ; He is so willing by GRACE through FAITH by HIS HOLY SPIRIT to become our lives. You may have heard the expression, ”There is nothing you can do.” Well, this is true in part. Let me CLARIFY. There is nothing you can do to EARN or MERIT the GRACE OF GOD, because GRACE is a FREE GIFT, and you simply cannot EARN or MERIT that which is FREE.
However, there is EVERYTHING you can do to RECEIVE that which is FREE, and that EVERYTHING is your FAITH. (Not a WORKS OF LAW, but a WORKS OF FAITH meeting the necessary CONDITION that God has established through His GOSPEL).
As an example, as a Chiropractor I tell you I am going to give you a FREE back adjustment. I set up my Chiropractic table, and then say, “Now lay on your right side.” You refuse to lay on your right side insisting that by doing so, you would be EARNING or MERITING the FREE Chiropractic adjustment, and it will no longer be FREE by your perspective.
We must remember that the GIFT GIVER always has the privilege or right of establishing what CONDITIONS are required in order to receive their FREE GIFT. You will not receive my FREE Chiropractic adjustment because you simply refused to comply with my CONDITION of laying on your right side.
Even thoughJESUS is the AUTHOR and PERFECTER (FINISHER) of FAITH; we still must EXERCISE our FAITH in order to receive the free gift of GRACE. Basically, no FAITH, then no GRACE. God offers us His GRACE, but if it’s not received by our FAITH, then it may as well not be there. God must receive the GLORY, HONOR and PRAISE in our walk in holiness, because without His offer of GRACE and FAITH in JESUS by the HOLY SPIRIT as our JUSTIFICATION and SANCTIFICATION; we would have no hope of salvation.
The GOSPEL (GOOD NEWS) is God’s ALGORITHM for the sin of mankind. God did His part by sending Jesus (the Unblemished and Spotless Lamb) to die on our behalf. We must simply receive Jesus Christ as our LORD and SAVIOR as God’s CONDITION of receiving the GOSPEL on GOD’S TERMS.
However, Jesus cannot and will not be our SAVIOR if He is not our LORD, because Jesus will not save a man He cannot command. God’s GOSPEL will never fail for those receiving it on GOD’S TERMS.
This is a word of advice and caution to all of us including myself. No matter how sincerely holy, spiritual and disciplined we are and having absolutely pure motives in our Christian walk or journey; DON’T EVER COMPARE WITH OTHERS, AND THEN BOAST IN OURSELVES!!! Because “OTHERS” aren’t the standard; the only Standard is Jesus Christ, and our true faith in Him will keep us humble.

Let’s be real, as humans we all have a tendency to compare with one another, but none of us are perfect as Jesus was and is. Jesus is our only standard and He is our only HOPE, LIFE & SALVATION as we experience a LIFE EXCHANGE with Him as depicted in Colossians 1:27 through our faith.

I listed all these Scriptures above to greatly DISCOURAGE us from ever yielding to the temptation to put confidence in our FLESH, but intended to strongly ENCOURAGE us to TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST. LEGALISM is trying to EARN or MERIT the favor of God leading to neurotic behavior and despair. LOYALISM is simply TRUSTING IN JESUS CHRIST, and allowing Jesus to exchange His life for ours. (Not a good deal for Jesus, but a great deal for us). We must remember and never forget that the devil and evil people HATE HOLINESS, and they will do anything to drag us down and defame our name and our character.

Yes, our FLESH is very strong in its demands that cry out for gratification, and WHATEVER WE FEED WILL GROW . We must not deny the Proclivity, Propensity, Tendency, Instincts, Bent, Longings for & Wanting what the mind perceives to be good or desirable, and the susceptibility of our desires for gratification, but we also must realize that we are NOT UNDER OBLIGATION to obey our FLESH as per Romans 8:11-14.
Romans 8:11-14 NASB (BSFF):
[11] BUT IF THE SPIRIT OF HIM who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, HE who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies THROUGH His Spirit who dwells in you.
[12] So then, brethren, we are UNDER OBLIGATION, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh-
[13] for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
[14] For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.
That’s why 2 Corinthians 10:5 is so ESSENTIAL to not just MEMORIZE, but to put it into PRACTICE MOMENT BY MOMENT while we have life and breath.

Jesus’ death on the cross was His act of righteousness and love that was done for all mankind by VOLUNTARILY taking all Mankind’s sins upon His body (Past, Present & Future) while we were yet sinners, then He WILLINGLY went to the cross. Jesus suffered and died a horrible death of crucifixion, so that God would ACCEPT and RECOGNIZE His suffering and death as a sufficient sacrifice and penalty that was truly due for Mankind’s sin. Thank God for Jesus’ ACT OF RIGHTEOUSNESS and LOVE that He demonstrated for ALL while we were yet sinners.

However, even though Jesus made the PROVISION for all of our sins to be cleansed by His blood, so that we might be RECONCILED (United in friendship with our Heavenly Father); this fact is not RATIFIED (Affirmed, Authorized, Approved or Validated) until we are BORN AGAIN:

So, if we are BORN AGAIN, and we sin subsequent to our conversion; we must again Confess and Repent of our sins before a Holy God through our only Mediator between God and men, Jesus Christ. No, if we sin we don’t instantly lose our SALVATION, because SALVATION is a continuum: We are SAVED, we are BEING SAVED, and we WILL BE SAVED, IF we truly continue to BELIEVE (Obey) CONSISTENTLY, BUT NOT PERFECTLY.

[36] He who BELIEVES IN THE SON has eternal life; but he who does not OBEY THE SON will not see life, but the WRATH OF GOD abides on him.”
We must lead a Christian life of LOYALISM to our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ, and not LEGALISM (Trying to EARN or MERIT our salvation without faith in Jesus Christ). If we do sin, by necessity, our flesh is in control, until we Confess and Repent, then the Holy Spirit is in control. It’s like a 5-speed car: We can’t be in 1st gear (Obedience) and reverse gear (Disobedience) at the same time according to Scripture (Let Scripture speak; not doctrines of men):

We must not allow our EXPERIENCE of tried/failed, tried/failed to become our STANDARD; but we must allow God’s STANDARD (JESUS CHRIST), to become our EXPERIENCE.
(Only thru Col. 1:27 by His Holy Spirit will we experience a LIFE EXCHANGE with Jesus Christ). Jesus is our only HOPE, LIFE & SALVATION!!!
TRUE LOVE will never knowingly bring FALSE COMFORT to a sinner in his sin, but rather always speak the TRUTH IN LOVE: I’d rather OFFEND you with the TRUTH, then DECEIVE you with a LIE.

All because of our own personal sins and His AMAZING LOVE for us; then the least I can do is: GO & TELL others about Jesus and His AWESOME GOSPEL, the GOOD NEWS! (MGCC)
LOVE is the COMMITMENT to promote the good of another for no selfish interest.
We must remember, and never forget, that principally & primarily LOVE IS A COMMITMENT, and not a FEELING.
Don’t wait for feelings to come before we exercise love. Love is a spiritual muscle that will be strengthened and grow only by using it through the Holy Spirit. In time, with exercise, deep feelings will manifest as our love continues to grow.
God commands us to LOVE ONE ANOTHER, but never does God command us to like one another, because some people simply aren’t likable. I know we could say the same thing about LOVE, that some people simply aren’t lovable, but trust me, I won’t argue with God.
We must remember, as true Christians, it’s only Jesus within us that makes us lovable as His Holy Spirit controls our lives. Let’s be realistic, apart from Jesus Christ, none of us are lovable. Thank God, Jesus didn’t wait for us to be lovable before He loved us; otherwise we would all be dead in our sins and alienated from God. PRAISE THE LORD!!!
