Sanctification Plan

While reading the book “Sanctification” by Charles G. Finney; the Holy Spirit stirred within me a fire with every office or relationship that Jesus has available to every sincere sinner and Believer who is desperate to receive Jesus Christ in all His glory, power, and strength. From this book, it is implicitly declared that it must not be “more of Him, and less of us”, but rather “ALL of Him, and none of us” in our Christian walk for a complete and consistent victory over the world, the flesh, and the devil.
Some of you may already know and live according to these truths. However, the only reason I am sharing this with you now is because God has birthed within me a passion to express the freedom I have experienced in Christ Jesus. I only want others to experience this freedom as well. I am no Pastor or theologian. Please don’t interpret this letter as condescending or arrogant, but rather receive it in love as it is written. I am just being obedient to my Father to share with others this awesome victory and liberty in Christ.
I have come to believe that we must no longer hold on to excuses of any kind such as “sinful natures”, Roman 7: “wretched man that I am!” mentality, or a “sanctification process” (in which there is absolutely always remaining some kind of sin). No wonder some have not experienced victory over the world, the flesh, or the devil!!! No one will ever rise higher than the expectations put upon them!!!
I am of the opinion that some have been “brain washed” by such ideas, notions, and doctrines instead of being “heart cleansed” by simply crucifying our flesh and allowing Jesus Christ to be our life as depicted in Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me”.
I also see in Scripture that we must no longer believe that Jesus will show us the way, the truth, and the life, but we must receive and keep receiving Him as the Way, the Truth, and the Life as depicted in John 14:6. We must embrace and appropriate Him at all times; so that we might “be steadfast, immoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:58). Not “legalism”, but “loyalism”.
Jesus Christ as the Captain of our ship (Ruler of our hearts) is not optional, but rather essential, in order to live a victorious Christian life honoring to God. Christianity is not a one-time belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, but an ALL-TIME belief, so that we might experience His victorious power over any and all temptations we may face.
The Holy Spirit is the only One who can truly and emphatically reveal Jesus Christ as vibrantly alive in each relationship He will develop within us as we simply consent by faith. The Believer doesn’t sit passively by as Jesus actively influences and persuades our wills to conform with His; but rather, we must actively, by faith, receive and enthrone Jesus in all His glory and power to overcome any and all temptations that come our way. We must also, by faith in Jesus Christ, actively renounce and reject any of our feeble, futile, and even foolish efforts to overcome our temptations by allowing Jesus, by faith, to do what He does best: overcome evil through His awesome love and power. Even our best intentions to overcome evil will fail if we neglect to allow Jesus to be the Savior of our souls, and the Lord of our lives.
While and as long as we attempt to overcome temptation on our own without completely depending on and trusting in Jesus Christ; God will patiently wait until we come to our senses. Jesus is the Vine and we are the branches. We have no life apart from Jesus Christ. John 15:5 says, “5I am the Vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing”. We must not allow our experience (Christian walk: Tried/failed; Tried/failed) to become our standard; but rather we must, by faith in Jesus Christ, allow God’s standard (Jesus, holiness, sanctification, all-powerful) to become our experience. No one can boast when we are simply abiding in the Vine, Jesus Christ. It must be Christ in us our hope of glory. Colossians 1:27 says,
“27to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory”.
This is the mystery of faith revealed to all Believers by the Holy Spirit who are desperate to honor God through their Christian lives.
I believe the Holy Spirit put it upon my heart to write to all the Pastors (five that I am aware), that are meeting in the New Life Christian Center building. I simply want to share about a life exchange with Jesus Christ as my experience, not just a theory. I have no formal training in Bible school, but yet I have experienced the victory in Jesus Christ over the sin of pornography that held me captive for years. When the Son set me free; He set me free indeed (in truth, really, in fact, certainly). John 8:36 says, “36So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed”. I was not set free just doctrinally, but because of the radical influence the Holy Spirit revealed to me regarding my relationship with Jesus. He has kept me free for over 30 years. My boast is only in Jesus, but my part must be my faith in Him to keep me as He promises that He will. Jude 1:24 says, “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy”.
Now, no one in the Church would ever rebuke, criticize, or label as arrogant a sinner who humbly comes to Christ and receives His initial saving grace by faith, and becomes a new creature in Christ; experiencing grace in its “forgiveness power”. However, some in the Church would rebuke, criticize, or label as arrogant (Holier than Thou) a new convert or any convert who will simply, humbly, and consistently be led by the Holy Spirit experiencing Christ’s grace in its “sanctifying power” through unwavering faith. I believe God, Jesus, and His Holy Spirit wants all believers to walk consistently according to His Holy Spirit as true disciples of Christ should. Why are believers who consistently by faith receiving this “sanctifying power” and His Holy Spirit rebuked? This is a good question to ponder!!! Anyone who consistently lives according to the flesh by returning to his sin or vomit is, in fact, the one who is arrogant and proud to receive God’s grace in vain. Please see Hebrews 10:26-29 and 2 Peter 2:20-22. We, as believers, must have an attitude of gratitude for the gracious offer of His “sanctifying power” only obtained through His Holy Spirit by faith. To live in sin is simply man saying, “my way; not God’s way”. This is the height of arrogance and pride, but some have been blinded by false doctrines and false teaching that will deceive us into believing Christ and His grace will cleanse us from sin while we still live in it!!!
This is not God’s will for our lives. See 1 Thessalonians 4:7,8.
My wife, Dani, and I met a man approximately 30 years ago who taught us that we could live holy lives as we completely surrendered and keep surrendering our lives to Jesus Christ. Well, we believed what he said, and we believed in Jesus. Jesus Christ saved our marriage and saved us. Jesus continues to save us from the guilt, power, and penalty of sin as we continue to trust in Him. While and as long as we are in Christ Jesus by God’s doing we do well.
1 Corinthians 1;30,31 says, “30But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, 31 so that, just as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord”. If we try to take over, then we go off course, and crash. It is simply up to us, by faith, to allow Jesus to save His people from their sins. Matthew 1:21 says, “21Jesus will save His people from their sins”.
Please do not interpret what I am writing as coming from someone that thinks he is a “Know it all”, or “someone special”, but rather from someone who has experienced the love and victory of Jesus Christ along with the peace and joy that accompanies this victory. Of course, the victory belongs to Jesus Christ. I simply want to share this “Sanctification” book that depicts just how I embraced Jesus Christ as both my Lord and my Savior.
My intent is in no way to condescend to any of you who have already experienced Jesus Christ in His Divine Nature. He promises to give us all that is needed for life and godliness as we trust in Him. Rather, I want all the congregations to partake in Jesus Christ in His Divine Nature for a revival of each soul which is honoring to God. 2 Peter 1:2-4 says, “2Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; 3seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 4For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust”.
I treasure the sets of Scriptures which follow simply because they show me what it looks like to walk according to the flesh with the flesh as my master, and what it looks like to walk according to the Holy Spirit as my Master.

(This letter originally written on 1-2-16 has been edited on 1-28-17 with minor changes and Scriptures for clarity).
I would truly be blessed to share my testimony with all the Pastors at the same time in hope of a true revival that can only come through Jesus Christ revealed by His Holy spirit.

1 Thessalonians 4:7-8 NASB
[7] For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification.
[8] So, he who rejects this is not rejecting man but the God who gives His Holy Spirit to you.

1 Corinthians 2:1-9, 14-16 NASB
[1] And when I came to you, brethren, I did not come with superiority of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.
[2] For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.
[3] I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling,
[4] and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
[5] so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of men, but on the power of God.
[6] Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away;
[7] but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God predestined before the ages to our glory;
[8] the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would not have crucified the Lord of glory;
[9] but just as it is written, “Things WHICH EYE HAS NOT SEEN AND EAR HAS NOT HEARD, AND which HAVE NOT ENTERED THE HEART OF MAN, ALL THAT GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.”
[14] But a natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually appraised.
[15] But he who is spiritual appraises all things, yet he himself is appraised by no one.
[16] For who HAS KNOWN THE MIND OF THE LORD, THAT HE WILL INSTRUCT HIM? But we have the mind of Christ.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10 NASB
[7] Because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me-to keep me from exalting myself!
[8] Concerning this I implored the Lord three times that it might leave me.
[9] And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
[10] Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
(The Gospel is the Power of God for salvation to everyone who believes: Romans 1:16)

2 Corinthians 10:1-6 NASB
[1] Now I, Paul, myself urge you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ-I who am meek when face to face with you, but bold toward you when absent!
[2] I ask that when I am present I need not be bold with the confidence with which I propose to be courageous against some, who regard us as if we walked according to the flesh.
[3] For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,
[4] for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
[5] We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,
[6] and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.

2 Corinthians 10:12 NASB
[12] For we are not bold to class or compare ourselves with some of those who commend themselves; but when they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves with themselves, they are without understanding.

Galatians 2:19-21 NASB
[19] For through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God.
[20] I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
[21] I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.”

Galatians 5:14-15 NASB
[14] For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.”
[15] But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.

Galatians 5:16-18 NASB
[16] But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not carry out the desire of the flesh.
[17] For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.
[18] But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.

Galatians 5:19-21 NASB
[19] Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality,
[20] idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions,
[21] envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:22-23 NASB
[22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
[23] gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Galatians 5:24-26 NASB
[24] Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
[25] If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit.
[26] Let us not become boastful, challenging one another, envying one another.

1 John 1:5-10 NASB
[5] This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.
[6] If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth;
[7] but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.
[8] If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.
[9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
[10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.

1 John 2:1-6 NASB
[1] My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous;
[2] and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.
[3] By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments.
[4] The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him;
[5] but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him:
[6] the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked.

1 John 3:3-10 NASB
[3] And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.
[4] Everyone who practices sin also practices lawlessness; and sin is lawlessness.
[5] You know that He appeared in order to take away sins; and in Him there is no sin.
[6] No one who abides in Him sins; no one who sins has seen Him or knows Him.
[7] Little children, make sure no one deceives you; the one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous;
[8] the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has sinned from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil.
[9] No one who is born of God practices sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
[10] By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother.

1 John 3:17-24 NASB
[17] But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him?
[18] Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
[19] We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him
[20] in whatever our heart condemns us; for God is greater than our heart and knows all things.
[21] Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God;
[22] and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do the things that are pleasing in His sight.
[23] This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us.
[24] The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

I sincerely believe that it is of extreme importance, that as true believers we now all have access to God’s Divine Nature as we abide in Christ in our walk with the Holy Spirit. This new life abiding in Christ who set us free and promises to keep us free will become our reality if we continue to trust in Him.

2 Corinthians 9:8 says, “8And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed”.
